Poetry Workshop with Jodie Hollander

21 June 2024 @ 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM BST

£7.50 – £15.00

We are delighted to welcome back Jodie Hollander to Heptonstall Museum offering an opportunity to join a poetry workshop as part of her residency at 1 Aspinall Street, former childhood home of Ted Hughes.

Poetry of Place
This workshop will focus on the significance of place in poetry. Place may be defined as a geographical location, an internal state, or perhaps a poetic meeting of the two. Using our surroundings as inspiration, this workshop will lead students through a series of writing prompts to ultimately create an original draft of a poem. In addition, the class will briefly touch on line breaks and the use of sound.

Between 12th and 22nd June, Jodie will be writing poems that respond to and engage with the Hughesian Landscape. See Jodie’s website for more info and other events.
