The Making of The Gallows Pole : Photographic Exhibition
30 October 2023 @ 8:30 AM - 27 November 2023 @ 3:00 PM GMT

In 2021 Heptonstall was one of several sites used in the filming of The Gallows Pole, Shane Meadow’s adaptation of the story of the Cragg Vale Coiners, a notorious counterfeiting gang operating in 18th-century Yorkshire.
A unique moment in time, midst COVID restrictions – Heptonstall Museum had recently closed and became central to the production, as it was transformed into Barb’s Tavern.
During production, local resident and photographer, Bruce Cutts captured moments, behind the scenes for The After Alice Project.
With his kind permission, visitors to The Town Hall have an opportunity to enjoy an exhibition of photographs capturing the transformation of the village.
The exhibition will continue throughout November.
