Join us for a unique opportunity to help shape the upcoming exhibition by creating an immersive soundscape that brings artefacts to life. \nWhy a Soundscape? \nThis isn’t just background noise—it’s storytelling through sound. The soundscape will be woven into the exhibition\, pairing voices\, effects\, and music with selected artefacts to transport visitors into the past. Imagine hearing the voice of a musketeer preparing for battle as you stand before a Civil War musket ball… \n“My matchlock musket. Open the pan\, prime the pan… I hear them\, the Royalists; I hear their cavalry. God be with me this day…” \nWhat You’ll Do\nLed by writer and workshop facilitator Michael Crowley\, you’ll explore: \n\nWriting through the five senses\nCreating characters from historical clues\nDeveloping dramatic monologues linked to museum objects\nCollaborating on ideas\, structure\, and soundscape content\nParticipating in the recording process\n\n\n\nLet Heptonstall’s history echo through your voice. Step into the story. Shape the sound. \nParticipation is free to attend\, but please register as places are strictly limited due to capacity.\n\n\n\n\nWe would ask you to advise of any accessibility issues due to the age and location of the museum’s building\, which may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
