We offer a tranquil space in the traditional town of Heptonstall. The museum has proven itself to be highly adaptable and we’ve regularly hosted everything from weaving demonstrations to poetry performances, author talks as well as craft sales and art exhibitions.
We are now welcoming others to make use of the great rooms we can offer to hire.
We can offer our main area, The Old School Room (home from Thursday to Sunday to the main museum area). Alternatively, the atmospheric and airy rooms below which forms The Undercroft.
Hire is generally available Monday to Wednesday for day or evening hire. During Museum opening days, we can also offer evening hire after 6pm.
If you wish to hire the museum on days we would normally open to the public, we are open to discussions.
Community Hire
We continue to work closely with our local community and we want to make Heptonstall Museum a valuable community space. We are happy to negotiate hire costs dependent on an organisation’s funds/needs and can also offer volunteering opportunities to offset hire for keen organisations.
THE OLD SCHOOL ROOM
The main area of the Museum, the former Grammar School room, has a seated theatre capacity of approximately 35, with room for around 5 standing, when arranged theatre style. Other configurations, such as workshops would decrease capacity.
Acoustically, it works wonderfully as a performance space, though it can also be adapted for workshops or team meetings. As the main purpose of this space is as a museum, we do reserve the right to decline hire where we feel activities may be a risk to the display/exhibits.
