Meet Steve Hartley, direct descendent of the King of the Coiners, David Hartley. His new book is the definitive guide to the this incredible true story of the coin clipping gang of Cragg Vale. Steve has been a great supporter of the museum and we know this will be a truly special and very welcome return.

Reopening Day

Heptonstall Museum’s opening exhibition begins on 27 May – Criminal Coiners: Life and Death in Wild West Yorkshire gives a glimpse into the lives of those involved in forgery activity which almost ruined English economy in the late 18 century.

Ethel Carnie Holdsworth : Prose & Poetry

A rare opportunity to hear and explore the life and works of Ethel Carnie Holdsworth. This unique event will be an intimate performance of her prose and poetry and an opportunity for audience Q&A. Any donations will support Friends of Heptonstall Museum, a community asset transfer group and registered charity.
